AUSTRALIAN VALVE BANK

The Australian Valve bank is set up as a non profit bank of valves to assist amateur radio operators in Australia, and members of the Historical Radio Society of Australia. There is a mix of new and used valves, most non workers are discarded upon receipt, a quantity of stock has not been tested but all have been visually inspected.  Those supplied may not necessarily conform to the brands listed.

All donations of valves are gratefully received.

Postage

All valves are dispatched by regular post red bag (non insured and non registered) for $9 per order (less than 500 grams). No charge for members of the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio club, valves ordered will be brought to the monthly meeting, if not required earlier. Pickups may also be arranged for visitors.

Costs

A small cover cost of $15 per valve is charged so that we may continue our work, the public are also welcome to purchase from our stock.

For members of AHARS in Adelaide there is no charge for any valves or postage the service is entirely free (you must be on the current membership list).

If the valve you need is not on the list, contact me, as I have in place a discount structure with some other valve banks, to cross purchase valves on your behalf, with the discounts passed on to you.

While we endeavor to remove any suspect valves from stock an occasional dud may turn up which will be happily replaced if we have the stock, else an appropriate credit will be issued.

Some valves are not listed but are available, for example output valves like 12BY7, 6146, 807, 4cx250B, 4-400, 6CA7, 6V6, 6L6, 6CM5 KT88's etc are priced accordingly, and passed on to other Amateurs and AHRS members at our current cost. The cost of every purchase varies, so there are often a few choices and different costs for each valve needed.

YAESU FT101 6js6 to 6146 conversion kit $110AUD (post $18AUD worldwide)

In the 70's the Yaesu FT101 was a popular tranciever but the then readily available 6JS6 PA final valves became unavailable. If you can find them the cost is prohibitive to restore one of these teriffic ham trancievers. Here is a low cost kit assembled by the folk at the Adelaide valve bank (a volunteer organisation set up to provide free valves for members of AHARS). The kit comes complete with printed instructions, all components, two new ceramic octal valve bases and two new Shuguang 6146B output valves.
